Road Sandblasting is more commonly used in road revamp projects, which require the removal of old lines and directional arrows, and the application of new ones.

Sand Blasting;

High pressure water blasting, otherwise known as hydro jetting or high pressure cleaning, is the process of spraying pressurized water onto a surface to remove surface material and contaminants.

Uses of sand blasting method

Road markings perform an important function of guiding and controlling traffic and serve as a psychological barrier and signify the delineation of the traffic path. It also channelizes the movement of the pedestrians and cyclists into the safe zones.

Road markings are completely missing or faded to the point of being unclear, especially from a distance, this can seriously impact the safety of motorists and pedestrians.

Work Methodology for Road Marking Removal:

  • The work shall be performed at the locations designated on the plans or as directed by the Engineer.
  • Remove 100% of the road marking deposits using ultra-high pressure water jets without damaging the road surface.
  • Do not perform work unless the temperature is a minimum of 5ºC and rising and the pavement temperature is a minimum of 0ºC and rising.
  • Road marking removal may be performed during inclement weather conditions.
